Our project looks for people who want to explore the other side of Buenos Aires. For those who want to understand more about social exclusion or to see a different way of living! What would it be like to get to know one of these neighborhoods from the inside? Our presence helps to minimize alienation.
You can choose to come for only one day or be a volunteer for a longer time. During the one-day program, we will take a walk through the shantytown and you will be able to take a closer look at their houses, a community center, various micro-enterprises, and workshops. We will also have lunch together and taste typical Paraguayan or Bolivian food. We can also arrange a time for you to come on Saturdays when there is a large, open-air market that we can visit. During our walk through the villa, we will be accompanied by people that live in the barrio to help ensure our safety. After lunch, we will go to the community center to help the children with their schoolwork.
The cost includes transportation, meal, a bilingual guide, a guide of the settlement, photos of your volunteer work, and supplies for the workshops and for making afternoon snacks. The one-day program lasts approximately 4 hours.
